The Timor Python is a moderately large python endemic to the island of Timor and nearby islands in the Lesser Sunda chain. It is closely related to the reticulated python group, sharing a similarly elongated, muscular build.
It was historically considered a subspecies of the reticulated python before being recognized as a distinct species.
