Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 16, 2026

1. Information We Collect

When you use Snake Identifier, we collect the following information:

  • Images you upload for identification, and any notes you add
  • Reports you submit about other users' content (the reason and any details you write)
  • Account information (email, username) when you sign in with Google
  • Usage data and analytics
  • Device information for app functionality

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide snake identification services
  • Improve our AI recognition technology
  • Maintain and improve our services
  • Communicate with you about your account

3. AI Data Processing

To provide AI-powered snake identification features, the app sends your text, images, or other input to third-party AI platforms for processing. These platforms currently include Google and OpenAI. By using the identification feature, you agree to share this data with these providers so your request can be processed.

Google and OpenAI each process this data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of Google and OpenAI for more information on how your data is handled by their services.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Firebase and Google Cloud services. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. Public identifications appear in the community feed and on pages of our website that search engines can index. Private identifications are unlisted: they stay out of the feed, search, and indexed pages, but anyone you share the link with can still open them. You choose the visibility of each identification and can delete an identification at any time from the app.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Control the visibility of your identifications
  • Opt out of analytics tracking
